Charlie Thompson, President/Publisher
Charlie Thompson joined American Trade Magazines (ATM) in 1989 as midwestern sales manager. He rose through the ranks eventually becoming publisher in 1998. Charlie acquired the company and its three titles (American Coin-Op, American Drycleaner and American Laundry News) from Chicago-based Crain Communications in 2011.
He is an active member of the Textile Care Allied Trades Association and has served on its Board for several years. Charlie has a bachelor of journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He enjoys many outdoor activities.
Bruce Beggs, Editorial Director
Bruce Beggs is editorial director of print publications and related digital media products produced by American Trade Magazines LLC.
Bruce holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and mass communications from Kansas State University. His 38-year career includes experience as a reporter/editor for daily and weekly newspapers and a consumer magazine.
He joined ATM in 1999 as editor of American Laundry News, a post he held until 2011 when he was named editorial director for all ATM publications. In addition to his directorial responsibilities, Bruce serves as editor of American Coin-Op.
He and wife Sandy have two grown children and, in 2024, welcomed a granddaughter.
In his leisure time, Bruce enjoys sports and collectibles.
Nathan Frerichs, Digital Media Director
Nathan Frerichs oversees all of the company's digital products. He has been running the websites for American Trade Magazines’ three publications since 2010 and has launched multiple new properties since then as well.
Prior to joining ATM, he worked as a reporter/editor, advertising copywriter, photographer and, ultimately, a web designer and developer.
Nathan earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism/mass communications from Columbia College - Chicago. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two children.
John S. Suhler, Adviser
John S. Suhler is co-founder and general partner of Veronis Suhler Stevenson, a private equity and debt capital fund management company that invests in the media industry.
For much of his operational career, Suhler was a senior manager/publisher/president in educational, professional and consumer publishing. He has been a member of the board of directors of the Association of American Publishers and the Magazine Publishers of America, and an affiliate member of the American Newspaper Publishers.
Donald Feinstein, Investor
Don Feinstein is the former publisher for American Trade Magazines and was responsible for the group’s editorial, production, circulation, promotions and sales operations.
Don joined the ATM team in 2001 as production manager before shifting to ad sales as a regional manager in 2005. When Thompson acquired the magazine group, Feinstein was named national sales director, later the associate publisher, then took the reins as publisher until 2023.
Don graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Drake University. He enjoys graphic design, guitar and other creative outlets.
